Introduction to the MAS200 SQL Conversion Utility
MAS200 SQL Users are faced with formidable expense in maintaining and
upgrading the Microsoft SQL Server system. Now, you can convert or
return to the fast and reliable ProvideX native file system and save a
small fortune in system software overhead costs.
Overview
To utilize the MAS200 SQL Converter:
- upgrade your system to at least level 3.60 but no higher than 3.72
- install a fresh copy of MAS90 or MAS200 in a new folder on the same
server that MAS200/SQL is currently installed on.
- ensure that you have sufficient disk space - you will need approximately
the same amount of free space as your SQL database currently uses.
- install the SQL converter on the MAS200/SQL system.
- run the converter at a time when you can have exclusive use of the
system for the required time.
- re-install any Extended Solutions or Master Developer enhancements
into the new system.
- re-install workstation setup at each users' terminal from the new
MAS90 \wksetup\ folder.
Your MAS90 reseller or master developer will assist you in transferring
your custom reports. New or modified data tables from Extended Solutions
and Master Developer enhancements will convert correctly as long as they are
defined properly in the MAS90 Data Dictionary.
